"The anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you; as His anointing teaches you everything, and is true and is no lie, just as it has taught you, abide in Him."
1 Jn 2:27

Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Julie graduated from USL with a degree in elementary education. After college, she moved to New Orleans and earned her law degree from Loyola Law School.

In her 30s she became the first female partner at a successful trial law firm in New Orleans where she worked with the nation’s top trial attorneys on multi-million dollar cases.

In the summer of 2000, the Lord intervened in a sheer moment of grace. Her soul was called out of darkness and pierced with light and love. From that day on, her life changed. She left her law practice and has since followed His voice to many unexpected places.

Julie began to disciple students at Christ the King on LSU campus, then went on to disciple adults, married couples, and high schoolers alongside Fr. Joshua Johnson at Holy Rosary Church, Fr. Reuben Dykes in Independence, Louisiana, and Fr. Nathan O’Halloran at Loyola University.

Julie has one daughter, Hannah Powell, who resides with her husband in Midland, Texas.
